Welcome to our website. Stone Valley Pet Lodge is a distinctive boarding facility for dogs, cats and other companion animals located ten miles from State College between Whipple Dam and Shaver's Creek Environmental Center/Lake Perez. Situated on 88 wooded acres, Stone Valley Pet Lodge is specially designed for the safety and comfort of our guests. Our primary objective is to provide supervised care in a clean, secure, healthy and stimulating environment with an emphasis on individual attention. Please take a moment to browse through our site to learn more about the Pet Lodge. For information or to schedule a reservation, please contact us at 814-667-3000 or jackiepetsu@aol.comWe hope to hear from you soon!

We are open 7 days/week from 10am-6pm.

The above hours are for scheduled arrivals and departures. We are very accommodating to the need for immediate or "short-notice" boarding of a pet(s) for a variety of reasons so we welcome you to drop your pet off without a pre-arranged reservation during our hours if you find yourself in this position. If you are able, please call ahead to let us know you are coming. In addition, we also welcome drop-offs as early as 8:30 in the morning with prior notice.

If we do not have any scheduled arrivals or departures during our regular hours, we do lock the facility due to the rural location of the Pet Lodge and because the building also serves as a residence to the owner. We do check our phone messages often so we are reachable during these times if you leave a voice message and your call will be returned promptly.

Public access to our boarding guest areas is restricted to staff members only so please refer to our Features Page for a quick tour of our facility. Our enclosures offer a view of the outdoors, natural light, air-conditioning, heated floors and comfortably accommodate more than one pet from the same family.

Dogs enjoy off-leash outdoor exercise/bathroom break sessions throughout the day in large fenced play yards. Our more social canine guests are permitted to participate in group play during these sessions with permission from their owners and at our discretion making this a great way for pets to unwind and make some new friends AND as a special treat, we do offer a complimentary daily scrambled egg which the dogs love in addition to leaving them with a fond memory of their stay at the Pet Lodge.

Handling GI Upset After Boarding…

It is not uncommon for a pet to develop stomach issues after boarding.  Stress-induced diarrhea in the first two days after a boarding stay is almost to be expected from the excitement of returning home.

If your pet does develop gastrointestinal upset, give your dog some time to recover simply by fasting your pet for 12-24 hours while providing fresh water in small amounts followed by a bland diet for 24-48 hours.

A bland diet of plain cooked white rice with some chicken and canned pumpkin(not pumpkin pie filling) may be fed for a few days after the fasting period.  Once your pet feels better, gradually introduce their regular food.

It is very unlikely that your pet has contracted some sort of stomach illness from the boarding facility.  Please do not hold us responsible for your pet developing diarrhea in our care or after going home as it is out of our control.  We ask that you put a plan in place prior to your pet’s stay so that if there is a gut imbalance, you will know how to proceed.  If the diarrhea is still on-going after 48 hours, contact your veterinarian.
