Policies

Reservations should be made in advance whenever possible.  Pets may be checked in or checked out at any time during Lodge hours.  All pets arriving or departing from the Lodge must be on a leash or in a carrier.  Please allow a few extra minutes for checking in so that we may review your pet's vaccination records and collect your contact information.  We appreciate having as much information as possible about your pet along with any present or past medical conditions.  Please provide us with current documentation of the following vaccinations:

Dogs: DHLPP-C, Bordetella, Rabies
Cats:  FVRC-P, Rabies

Upon your pet's arrival to the Lodge, your pet will be given access to the bathroom facilities.  For your dog's safety, please bring your dog with a properly fitted nylon or leather collar with identification.  Please help us keep your pet happier by making sure the ears are free of infection and debris and that the coat is brushed and mats removed prior to boarding.  We recommend that dogs be on a preventative for fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites and that cats be on a preventative for fleas.

A full day's board is charged for the date of arrival and each date the pet is boarded past noon.  For example, if a pet is dropped off on Thursday afternoon and picked up on Sunday afternoon, the stay is considered a four day stay.  The stay is also considered a four day stay for a pet that is dropped off on Thursday morning and picked up on Monday morning.  We appreciate your understanding of our hours, policies and lodging rates.

If there is a change in your pet's arrival or departure time, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible.  If you plan to pick up your pet outside of your scheduled departure time, please call ahead so that we can have your pet and belongings ready.  Payment is due in full at the time of departure and we accept cash, checks, debit cards, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.  A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

In the unlikely event that your pet should require veterinary care, reasonable efforts will be made to contact you and your veterinarian first.  Depending on the nature of the illness and the travel required to access your veterinarian, we reserve the right to use our on-call veterinarian.  Any transporting fees or veterinary bills shall be paid by the owner.

We are able to accommodate special need pets requiring more extensive care or special handling.  This includes and may be mandatory for pets that are blind, diabetic, geriatric, incontinent, immoble, post-surgical, etc.  An additional fee of $5-$15 per day will be charged depending on the extra care required.  Please contact us to discuss the specific needs of your pet.

Our enclosures offer a view of the outdoors, natural light, air-conditioning, heated floors and comfortably accommodate more than one pet from the same family.  A small fee will be charged for pets requiring a clean-up bath prior to departure.  We also care for birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets and other small companion animals.

Food/Medications/Bedding

Owners are asked to provide their pet's regular food and snacks from home to avoid any sudden dietary changes that could lead to digestive upset or pets refusing to eat.  We also recommend that owners bring longer lasting edible types of chewy toys that you normally give at home because most pets enjoy chewing on something during their spare time and we enjoy seeing them entertained and happy.  Comfortable bedding is provided to all of our guests or you may bring bedding from home.

Our full kitchen allows us to monitor diets closely, provide warm meals and store food and medications that require refrigeration or freezing.  Please inform us of any dietary restrictions your pet may have.  We also carry a variety of treats including Pig Ears, Greenies, Milk Bones with peanut butter, Kongs, Frosty Paws and rawhide bones which are available for purchase and are given to your pet during his or her stay.

We are able to administer oral, topical and injectable medications as prescribed by your veterinarian.  A small fee may apply for this service.

Boarding Release

Stone Valley Pet Lodge (hereinafter defined as "Kennel"), owners, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage to my pet arising from the boarding and keeping of the pet or that may accrue from any cause whatsoever including disease, injury, death, escape, theft, fire or any other unforeseeable cause with reasonable care having been exercised.  Owner agrees to be solely responsible for all acts or behavior of the pet while in the care or on premises of Kennel and further agrees to indemnify Kennel against all damages.  Personal items may be left at your own risk and Kennel is not responsible for loss or damage.  Owner agrees that Kennel's liability shall in no event exceed the lesser of the current chattel value of a pet of the same species or the sum of $200.00.  Owner certifies that he/she is the sole owner of the pet and that the pet is current on vaccines, appears to be free of contagious disease and has not bitten anyone within the past (10) days.

Should your pet require veterinary care, reasonable efforts will be made to contact you and your veterinarian first.  Depending on the nature of the medical problem and the travel required to access your veterinarian, Kennel reserves the right to use our on-call veterinarian.  Kennel is authorized to initiate appropriate treatment, including life-saving procedures, regardless of the pet's age and health until Owner/Representative can be contacted.  It is Owner's responsibility to provide Kennel with written documentation declining any or all medical procedures for a pet.  Owner agrees to pay all expenses associated with the treatment of the pet until Owner is available to discuss further care and related fees with the attending veterinarian.  Kennel shall not be held liable for any side effects or complications experienced by the carrying out of the veterinarian's orders.  Owner has made Kennel aware of all pre-existing medical conditions, allergic/drug reactions, behavioral issues, dietary restrictions and medications given within the past (30) days.

We appreciate your understanding of our policies, hours and lodging rates.

If there is a change in your pet's arrival or departure time, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible.  If you plan to pick up your pet outside of your scheduled departure time, please call ahead so that we can have your pet and belongings ready.  Payment is due in full at the time of departure and Owner agrees that the pet shall not leave the premises until all charges are paid.  A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.  Any pet left for (7) days beyond the agreed date of departure will be considered abandoned and handled in accordance with Pennsylvania State Law, and that doing so does not relieve the Owner of all financial obligations.

I have read this contract, agree to its terms and understand that this contract is legally binding for all pets boarded or kept by me now and in the future.  Kennel reserves the right to amend this contract without notice.
